What is a Static Content?
A Static Content is a single content item in your database that will correspond to a single page on your website. Static content is an item that does not belong to any sections or categories on your site. An example would be a “License Page“ or an “About Us Page”.Adding a static content
Go to MiaCMS administrator page and login. At the top menu bar, hover you mouse at the Content button. A sub menu will drop down, and then click on Static Content Items. See Figure 1.

You should now be redirected to the Static Content Manager. For a new Mia install with sample data inserted, you will see a single item titled “MiaCMS License”. See figure 2.

As you have observed, the item has 9 columns.
Title: Content item title.
Published: Indicates an item is published or unpublished. Try hovering onto the icon.
Front Page: The item is viewable in your website front page.
Order: Item ordering.
Access: Item permission. What group is allowed to view the item.
ID: The database item ID. Handy when creating custom links on the item.
Links: The number of menu’s linked on the item.
Author: The item creator.
Date: Date the item was created.
Now let’s add new Static Content item. At the Static Content Manager Menu Bar Icons, click on New icon.
The next page would be Static Content Item: New. See figure 3. For demonstration, we will just add simple text on it.

At the item details Title I put “My Static Content”, you can make your own title of course. Leave the Title Alias empty. See that beautiful text editor below? That’s MOStlyCE, a text editor bundled with MiaCMS so you don’t have to manually put html tags when formating your texts. And make sure you have Published enabled at the right side pane “Publishing”.
Please note that setting up item parameters will not be covered here.
Ready? Save the item by clicking on the Save Icon.
You have now two static items in your Static Content Manager. “MiaCMS License” and the other one you just made.
Linking to a Menu
Linking the static item to a menu is easy. At the Static Content Manager page, click on the title of the item you just created. You should be redirected to the Static Content Item: Edit. See that “Publishing“ at the right side? Click it.When you click the “Publishing” button, the panel closes letting you see the other buttons. Select Link to Menu by clicking it. Link to menu will slide open.
Select a Menu - The menu were you want your button to appear.
We are going to choose mainmenu (mainmenu is usually located at the left side of your site front page) and in the Menu Item Name, type in Static Button. See figure 4. Now hit that Link to Menu button.

Go to your website front page. You should see the menu you created at the left side. Try to click it. If you are redirected to the Static Content you have created before, congratulations you just created your first static content in MiaCMS.
