<![CDATA[Upgrading from 4.6.5 to 4.9.0]]> http://forum.miacms.org/viewtopic.php?id=851&action=new Can I jump from 4.6.5 to 4.9.0 or should I install the patches and other versions first? How difficult will it be? Is it a matter of using the universal installer or just replacing directories? I am asking because I don't want to loose the current website.

Thanks in advance!

<![CDATA[Send Registration Button Unresponsive in 4.9]]> http://forum.miacms.org/viewtopic.php?id=852&action=new Hi I hope this message finds all well.

It's a (nearly) fresh install of 4.9 (using original Mambo database) and the "Send Registration" button in the page to create an account does not respond (beyond the button txt jiggling).

I've checked and permissions are 644 for files and 755 for directories. I tried changing al permissions to 755, no difference.

We're running Apache Server, php5, SQL5 (i think).

Any insights?

Thanks.

<![CDATA[Thinking of using miaCMS, but...]]> http://forum.miacms.org/viewtopic.php?id=865&action=new Hey all,
Been looking around the web for a good CMS, that would let my friends and I set up something of a Review site, where we can just goof off on.
We had recently attempted to use ModX, but I can't begin to explain to you the frustration that that CMS has given us.

What we have been attempting to do is make a website where we would have different sections to the site, e.g. Games, Technology, Sports, Automotive, etc. etc. and have it setup where, when you hover over one of those links, your given the categories that go with that section, so for Sports as an example, if you put your mouse over the word sports, a drop down box will appear giving you a list of choices. You could click on Sports and be given all news in the sports section, or choose Football, for all football articles, or baseball for all baseball articles, etc. And each section would be independent of each other, and from the Home Page, which we would use to post site wide news, like "Here's what's happening in the sports section... etc."

Aside from that, i'm also looking for a uniform, site wide login for users, so they can leave comments, as well as a news program that shows author names (ModX did not do that...), as well as admins.

We know that there will be coding involved however, I myself wanna avoid having to make a website from scratch and have it just fall apart due to crappy coding skills, haha, but what I am trying to find out is if miaCMS could do what we need? I've read as much as I can, and using the demo can only go so far... I apologize for asking this, but I hate to have to download it, install it, set it all up and then realize that it won't work for what we need, haha... Done that twice already, not looking forward to reading lines of code, setting up a template for another CMS that we find out doesn't work for what we need it too!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

<![CDATA[Community Builder in 4.9]]> http://forum.miacms.org/viewtopic.php?id=853&action=new Hi,

I am trying to install CB in 4.9.

1) Install com_comprofiler component
2) Install mod_cblogin module
3) Install mod_comprofilerModerator module
4) Install mod_comprofilerOnline module
5) Enable CB Login, CB Workflows and CB Online modules

Even though the first four installs yeilded a return of "Success", none of the modules in step 5 seem to exist.

Any thought, ideas?

<![CDATA[Failed conversion from Mambo 4.6.4 to MIA upgrade]]> http://forum.miacms.org/viewtopic.php?id=192&action=new Had to restore my old database. Upgrade unsuccessful on live site. Error with admin template:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method mamboCore::yuicssloader() in /home/myname/public_html/administrator/templates/miacms_admin/index.php on line 28

Now I DID forget ONE STEP until AFTER I got this error. I forgot to add the lines to the configuration.php file.

How can I fix this? I now (supposedly have all the regular Mambo files overwritten by the patch but have Mambo database.

Template "miacms_admin" was problematic to get working when I tried this with my local xampp install also.

Thanks for any clues. I now have a hybrid installation. roll

Edit: Using Beyond Compare many files did not get overwritten. I've tried to overwrite them by ftp AND by CPanel but keep gettin "Permission Denied".

<![CDATA[Converting from Mambo 454 to Mia CMS]]> http://forum.miacms.org/viewtopic.php?id=844&action=new I am having some minor issues converting my mambo site to MiaCMS. I am following the instructions on Sourceforge.net and the instructions say to download another file with the SQL commands in it called 454_to_46_upgrade.sql from the upgrades folder. i have seen a few references to this file on other sites and i believe that its location was on mambo-foundation.org and i cannot seem to get the file being that someone else now owns that domain.

I have not gone past these steps yet and would like to know if i risk corrupting anything if i do not complete these SQL statements before completing the upgrade.

It would be great if someone knew where else to get this file.

I am currently trying to upgrade mambo 454 to mambo 46 so that i can continue the upgrade process to MiaCMS.

<![CDATA[social bits & sitemap??]]> http://forum.miacms.org/viewtopic.php?id=832&action=new After installing a test run of 4.9 beta, having a play around and doing a bit of research I decided to migrate one of my mambo sites over to mia.

The conversion seems to have gone smooth enough but I notice there is some some components and modules missing. I have converted and updated to 4.8.1

I found on this forum where to locate Byte and MOStlyREST (whatever that is) but the ones i'm interested in are the social bits and sitemap.

A post over a year old says that they are in the process of being packaged, but I cant find them. These actually had a fair influence in my decision to convert so I would really like to locate and install them please.

can someone please point me in the right direction here?

Thanks
Al

<![CDATA[Considering Moving to MiaCMS]]> http://forum.miacms.org/viewtopic.php?id=804&action=new I've always used Joomla, and am currently looking at MiaCMS. Will ALL Joomla extensions work with MiaCMS? Even ones that (for example) backup Joomla, or something like that? Does it use both Joomla 1.0 and 1.5 extensions?

Also, could anyone lay out some of the key differences/advantages/disadvantages between the two?
