On behalf of the MiaCMS team I want to wish everyone a happy holiday season. Thank you for helping us make 2008 a very successful year for MiaCMS. We realize there is no shortage of open source content management systems on the Internet. We are thankful that you have chosen MiaCMS and hope you feel at home in our growing community. As always we encourage feedback, suggestions, and comments. We have created a new wishlist page on the Wiki (http://docs.miacms.org/wikka.php?wakka=Wishlist). Feel free to add your most desired features there and we'll aim to to work in the best ideas where possible in the coming year.
We look forward to delivering the stable version of our upcoming 4.8 release in just a few short weeks. We are in heavy planning for the next major release as well and a fair amount of progress has already been made. More news to come on this early next year.
Best Wishes,
The MiaCMS Team
It's not gonna fall on your lap you know.
]]>You may or may not be aware, but within the last day or two there has been a SQL Injection security report flying around the web. We have taken time to carefully review the report and wanted to make you aware of our finding. The report can be found here for reference - http://secunia.com/advisories/31584/.
The first three reported exploits claim that input passed to the "id" parameter in index.php (when "option" is set to "com_content" and "task" to "view", "category", or "blogsection") is not properly sanitized before being used in SQL queries.
This problem is the incorrect sanitization of $id in the mod_socialbits.php .
We'll provide an immediate patch very shortly.
Thanks for your patience and understanding
MiaCMS Team
]]>fyi; we'll only be committing to /svn/trunk/4.9 for maintenance.

]]>We had our twitter account setup for a while, but we haven't been utilizing it. With the release of MiaCMS 4.8 Beta, we decided to give it a go. Feel free to follow "your most favorite" projects updates on Twitter.

Here are some important links around the release:

This release goes a long way toward stabilizing and modernizing the CMS codebase. With the official 4.8 release behind us the team is now 100% focused on the next major release of the CMS. Version 4.8 will be the last significant release in the 4.x series. Planning and development efforts are already heavily underway on the next major release. Exciting news to follow on this topic over the next few months.
Special thanks to everyone who helped us test the beta. Enjoy!
]]>There is a nightly build available @

This is probably the last nightly before we pack up for official 4.8. Please take a look at it and report back if you come across any buggy behaviour.
Thanks,
